Cherry and chocolate cake

  • Packet of vanilla sugar 1
  • Sugar  150 g
  • Soft butter  100 g
  • Low protein flour 200 g
  • Chestnut flour (health food shop)  50 g
  • Chocolate pudding powder 20 g
  • Milk chocolate, grated  50 g
  • Baking powder  2 tbsp
  • Salt ½  tsp
  • Sour cream 100 g
  • Mineral water (carbonated) 200 ml
  • Jarred sour cherries (drained weight) 350 g


  • Beat the butter, vanilla sugar and sugar until fluffy. Add the flour, chestnut flour, chocolate pudding powder, baking powder, salt, mineral water, sour cream, chocolate and half the cherries and work into a smooth dough. 
    Place the dough in the springform cake tin. Spread the remaining cherries over the cake. 
    Bake for approx. 45 min. at 180 °C in a fan oven.
